Part-Time Skilled Operators – Stevedore Team

Solomon & Company (St Helena) Plc is recruiting Part-Time Skilled Operators to join the Stevedore Team.

In this role, you will operate heavy equipment and assist with the safe loading and offloading of cargo and containers from vessels, as well as transporting cargo to designated areas. Work may be both ship-side and shore-side.

Working hours will be based on ship and cargo operations, including weekdays and weekends.

Rate of pay: £7.02 per hour

What we’re looking for:

• A clean and valid driver’s licence (Classes H3, J1, J3 & J4) with at least 2 years’ experience
• Strong technical skills
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work at heights
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions while maintaining safety
• High attention to detail and strong awareness in the work environment
• Good communication skills
• Good physical fitness for manual and physically demanding tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a team with strong Health & Safety awareness
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
