Freight Agent

Solomon & Company (St Helena) Plc is seeking a Freight Agent to join the Shipping & Travel Department.
In this role, you will coordinate both sea and air freight operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of cargo. You will manage freight documentation, assist customers with enquiries, and support the day-to-day operations of the department while delivering excellent customer service.
Salary: £12,360 per annum (£1,030 per month), increasing following completion of requisite training.
What we’re looking for:
• Grade C or above in GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
• Confidence in the use of IT systems
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional approach
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
• Experience in cash handling and general administrative duties
• Commitment to learning and professional development, including overseas training when required
• Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
• Target-driven with a focus on delivering exceptional service
• Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems
• Flexible approach to working weekends (rota basis) and outside normal business hours when required
