Part-Time Rigger – Stevedore Team

Solomon & Company (St Helena) Plc is seeking a Part-Time Rigger to join the Stevedore Team.

In this role, you will prepare and secure lifting equipment, ensuring loads are safely attached, balanced, and ready for lifting and transportation. This position is primarily ship-side.

Working hours will be based on ship and cargo operations, including weekdays and weekends.

Rate of pay: £5.50 per hour

What we’re looking for:

• Strong communication skills (including signalling and radio communication)
• Good physical fitness for manual handling and demanding tasks
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to work at heights
• High attention to detail and vigilance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining safety standards
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outside normal hours when required
• Willingness to undertake training and develop skills further
