Part-Time Skilled Operator – Stevedore Team

Solomon & Company (St Helena) Plc is seeking a Part-Time Skilled Operator to join the Company’s Stevedore Team.

This role involves operating heavy equipment and supporting the safe loading and offloading of containers and cargo from sea vessels. The position is primarily ship-side and hours will be based on shipping and cargo operations, including weekdays and weekends.

Rate of pay: £7.02 per hour

What we’re looking for:

• A clean, valid driver’s licence (Classes H3, J1, J3 & J4) with at least 2 years’ experience

• Strong technical skills and good hand-eye coordination

• Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions

• Strong awareness of Health & Safety and Port Compliance

• Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions

• Good communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work well as part of a team

• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
